There is no large sales force here, I depend on my site designs to bring me more work. If your site looks bad, that makes me look bad.
Who should you hire to design your web site? If you are a small to medium sized business a freelance designer may be exactly what you are looking for. Do you really need to pay large company prices and have an entire team of web designers working on your web site? Do you want to hire a company only to find out they are contracting the work out to someone else? Hire a freelancer and what you see is what you get.
If you want to create a 100 page web site with large databases and custom programming, please go to a large company. Although I can incorporate database capabilities into my designs, you will need more than one person to complete a site like that in a reasonable amount of time. If I feel your site is too large for one person to handle I will recommend a larger company.
As a freelance designer, the
web sites I create are my advertising. I care if you get traffic and will optimize your site for top search engine placement. When I build something I want it to be seen.
Sure, you could build your own site, using templates or 'canned' pages. Your site would work, but it would also look 'prefabricated'. I don't use templates. When I build a site for someone, I start from scratch and create the layout and graphics by hand so that they'll fit the business itself. Before you choose a web designer, compare some of the
